My Thoughts on The F Word

By Unknown - March 20, 2018

Welcome back, how are you all doing?

Recently I have been getting back into reading which is so nice to say, I would only read books while I was on holiday. But since having this book it has made me get a lot more into reading, so I have even ordered a few more books to keep me going! I thought I would start off by giving you my thoughts on The F Word which is written by a fellow blogger/YouTuber Lily Pebbles.

This is a book that is based on 'A personal exploration of modern female friendships' on initial reactions I love that Lily has written a book as her blog and her writing style is one of my favourites. However, a book all about friendships you may be thinking? Yes! This is a book describing all the wonderful female friends in our lives, and breaking down the characteristics of every one of them both positively and their not so positive traits.

Let's just take a second to appreciate the aesthetics of the front cover, as soon as she revealed the cover I instantly thought that this book belongs in Urban Outfitters, it's such a unique cover but has Lily written all over it (not just literally).

Every time you hear that another blogger is bringing out a book you don't tend to react anymore because there are so many, and a vast majority there is. But this book is so different, it's nice hearing about a genuine topic that we all have to go through from a young age to our adulthood, I also think this book has a wide variety of a target audience because everyone can relate whether you have planned a hen party or not.

One aspect I love about this book is how personal it is, I feel like from this we have had such a nice insight into the author's life, both prior to youtube and during. I also love how the book was written, I felt like throughout I was reading one of Lily's blog posts or a diary which is so nice to see that she hasn't changed her writing style just because she is bringing out a book it's so authentic and raw.

This is such an easy read, but nice to see a different side of someone that not many people think about discussing; their friends! We all have our ups and downs, but this just shows you how meaningful they truly are, you do have a few moments of giggling to yourself at how relatable some of the stories are.

I can't think of any dislikes towards this book, apart from I didn't want it to end! I finished this book in around two and a half days which is good for me. I would definitely give this a read, whatever walk of like your experiencing. I can guarantee one thing, you will finish reading this book feeling so thankful for all your friends especially, but different situations you've been in that have made you the person you are today; such a feel-good book!

You can purchase The F Word from Amazon, for £10.99!
